Fee schedule checker
A private search tool for UK insurer procedure fees, built for surgeons, anaesthetists and their secretaries working privately.

Problem
Private surgeons, anaesthetists and their secretaries need to look up what each UK insurer pays for a procedure. Each insurer publishes fees and coding rules in a different format.
Intended users
Surgeons and anaesthetists working privately, and their secretaries. Access is limited to approved Google accounts.
My contribution
I built it.
Implementation
Imports published fee schedules from seven insurers into one searchable database, keeping each insurer's own prices, coding notes and unacceptable code combinations. A multiple-code calculator applies each insurer's billing rules, and a price history records fee changes from 14 October 2026. Data refreshes run as Python scripts without an AI API.
Important tradeoffs
Refreshes are staged and reviewed before they replace live data. Source errors, changed columns, invalid prices and unusually large changes keep the existing records. Totals are withheld when a fee is missing or a coding check is incomplete, rather than guessed.
Verification
Python and JavaScript tests cover imports, price history and the calculator rules. Calculator rules are checked against insurer sources, and a change in guidance requires review.
Outcomes
To add: Add current status, observed results and supporting links. No estimates presented as measurements.
