Problem

People new to the NHS may arrive with foreign healthcare records, information spread across documents, or history that exists only in their memory.

Intended users

To add: Who was this for? Distinguish intended users from people who have used it.

My contribution

I led the team, broke the problem down and gave each member clear ownership. The idea came from a problem I first noticed in patient care. My teammates Tahmid Azam, Alisha Sri-Ram and Isum Nanomi Arachchige each took ownership of a major part of the build.

Implementation

NHS-Onboard collates and translates records, identifies gaps and uses an AI voice agent to ask follow-up questions. It then produces a structured summary and suggests possible actions for clinician review. Every clinical decision stays with the clinician. Built as a working prototype in eight hours.

Important tradeoffs

To add: Describe a decision, the alternatives and why you chose this approach.

Verification

To add: What did you test, review or observe? Add evidence and limitations.

Outcomes

Third place and £2,500 among 60 builders selected from more than 1,200 applicants. We were the highest-placed all-student team.
